Dance for Wind (2017)

BY BY Dan Drizlikh

This is a wind quintet for flute, oboe, clarinet, French horn, and bassoon. Rather than being divided into separate sections, it plays as if it were one entire section while retaining flow in the harmonic structure.

Sonata in D Major (2017)

BY Dan Drizlikh

My experience in composing for solo piano led me to complete a traditional three-movement sonata. Like many other classical and romantic sonatas, it uses the exposition-development-recapitulation sectional order present in them as well as other large works and has recurring leitmotifs in either the bass and melody in major or minor keys. This work was the winner of the 2017 NFMC Glad Robinson Youse Adult Composers Contest.
