Sonata for Alto Saxophone (2018)
BY Dan Drizlikh
Having played the saxophone for many years, I had decided to compose another three-movement work for the instrument. Despite the name, it was not written like a traditional sonata, although it still has some elements of recurring materials. The movements do not have a sense of key while remaining somewhat tonal as well.
The Dust of Regret (2018)
BY Dan Drizlikh
The Dust of Regret is a work for string quartet and piano that expresses a feeling of missing out on something important. Initially it is depressing, but as the strings and piano communicate with each other more, the feeling of regret becomes magnified through each section. This makes the music convey its feelings to the audience emotionally.
